In recent years, the state attaches great importance to the safety work of tunnel construction. The State Administration of Work Safety, the Ministry of Transport, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the National Railway Administration jointly issued the "Nine Regulations on Construction Safety of Mausoleums", which clearly stipulates that "toxic and harmful gases must be monitored, ventilation management must be strengthened, and construction operations with excessive concentrations are strictly prohibited".
一、Analysis of poisonous and harmful gases in tunnel construction
The poisonous and harmful gas in tunnel is always the main danger source in construction. If the construction is not proper, it is easy to cause serious safety accidents. So what are the harmful gases in the tunnels? They are mainly methane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen and varying amounts of heavy hydrocarbons and trace rare gases.
According to their chemical properties, these poisonous and harmful gases can be divided into combustible gases and poisonous gases.
The main components of the combustible gas in the tunnel are methane (CH4, gas) and some volatile organic compounds (collectively known as VOC), which are easy to burn and even cause explosions when they encounter fire sources, thus causing harm to life and property.
According to their different mechanisms of action on human body, the toxic gases in the tunnel can be divided into three categories: irritant gas (nitrogen gas, phosgene gas, biphosgene gas, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, formaldehyde, ammonia gas, ozone), smothering gas (carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, cyanuric acid, carbon dioxide) and acute toxic organic gas (VOC). It is believed that most organic gases (VOC), such as n-hexane and dichloromethane, are both toxic and flammable. Most tests for these organic compounds have previously tested for their explosive properties, but usually do not reach the lower explosive limit (LEL) concentration of the gas. Its toxicity has already caused harm to human body, so for the detection of organic compounds (VOC), we should first test explosion, then test explosion.
