TVOC is one of the three organic pollutants (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds and aldehydes) in the air. VOC refers to the saturated vapor pressure of organic matter more than 133,32 pa at room temperature, its boiling 50 at 250℃, can exist in the air in the form of evaporation at room temperature, its toxicity, irritation, carcinogenability and odor, can affect the skin and mucosa, acute damage to the human body.
The main components of VOC are hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, oxygen hydrocarbons and nitrogen hydrocarbons, which includes: benzene series, organic chlorides, freon series, organic ketones, amines, alcohols, ethers, esters, acids and petroleum hydrocarbon compounds, etc.
Due to the low concentration of volatile organic compounds alone, and many kinds, so the total known as VOCs, VOCs expression is more accurate.
The main methods commonly used for the detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in China include gas chromatograpy-flame ionization detection (GC-FID), Fourier infrared detection (FTIR) and photoionization detection (PID).
